The actors who graced the stage at the Barnstormers Theatre take a bow to the wonderful ovation they were given after a successful performance. TLC wishes to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this wonderful evening, from the parents who prepared fantastic food offerings to all of those who helped constructing the impressive sets for the show and the colorful costumes for our actors. We could not have achieved such a success without your help. THANK YOU!!!!! |

TLC Students Participate in National Day of ServiceOur students were happy to participate this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, recognized by Congress and promoted this year by President-Elect Barack Obama as the National Day of Service, by spending several hours at the Ossipee Crossings Child Care Center. Students helped the little folks build styrofoam snowmen. After joining the young ones for lunch, they then spent time cleaning and disinfecting many of the great toys, seats, desks and tables at the Center. Our students were pleased to help and we thank the folks at Ossipee Crossings for inviting us into their community. At TLC, we believe that giving back to our communities is a vital part of maintaining a healthy and vibrant community and being a responsible citizen, and this was a great opportunity for our students to help out at a local level. They did a great job and the folks at Ossipee Crossings was truly grateful for their service. |

Young Learners Visit Local Firehouse! On Thursday morning, November 6, 2008, our Young Learners were treated to a personal tour of the Sandwich Fire Department. Besides getting to see how the firehouse operates and what firemen and fire women do, our students were also informed on what to do in the event of a fire at home. They loved demonstrating "STOP, DROP AND ROLL!" They got to climb in the drivers seat of a truck and dream the dreams of heroes! At the end of the tour, each was given a packet that included a coloring book with crayons, stickers, and a fire hat, and they were thrilled. A special THANK YOU to the Fire Department of Sandwich. |

School to College Students to Develop Geology Tutorial of White Mountains For the past several months, two students of our "School to College" Program have been spending much time hiking the White Mountain peaks and valleys to study the impacts of glaciers on the local geology. After hundreds of photographs and lots of class time, they are presently in the process of developing a photo tour and tutorial that will be made available in local libraries as well as on this web site. During our research, we found little information dedicated specifically to the impact the glaciers have had in our region, so we feel it will be a valuable tool for anyone interested in seeing firsthand some of the impacts of the mighty glaciers. Stay tuned for updates. |
