Welcome! We the faculty and staff of Tamworth Learning Circles School are glad that you have chosen to visit our website to learn about our small, innovative and dynamic school. We at TLC believe in promoting the spirit of the individual and the responsibility of the citizenry of our local community and society as a whole. To that end, we are dedicated to creating and maintianing a nurturing, safe and trusting environment where students explore their intellectual, social and emotional development. We invite you to learn a little about us in our brief biographical sketches below, and hope you would contact any of us with questions or comments you may have about our teaching philosophies, styles and methods.

Marion and Richard Posner Richard and Marion have degrees from Oxford and London Universities and many years experience as senior educators in England. Since 1994 they have made their home in Tamworth and worked as teachers in New Hampshire. Tamworth Learning Circles has developed from a part-time program they began for young children in Wonalancet when two of their own children were six and eight. They regard the Young Learners' Program as going back to the future! |

Jamie Riel Jamie joined TLC in 2005 to teach math, science and literature. After being educated at Unity College in Maine and Worceser State College in Massachusetts, Jamie taught science and health in public schools for four years. He left teaching to travel and learn more about the natural world. He was a hiking tour guide for over fifteen years, travelling extensively and experiencing many natural and cultural wonders. Now, he is excited to share his knowledge with our students, both here at school and through trips in our Discovery America Program. |

Will Cabell Will currently teaches the Young Learner Class for area home schoolers. He earned his MA in Integrated Arts/ ED from Plymouth State University in 2005 and subsequently taught high school English and Montessori upper elementary settings. For 25 years he has been an actor, director, puppeteer, musician and set designer, also serving as a teaching artist on the rosters of the New Hampshire State Artist in Education Program and Very Special Arts/ NH . His patience and understanding is widely known and has earned him the title of "saint" from Richard and Jamie. |

LISA THOMPSON A skilled puppet and mask-maker, Lisa has also brought her talent in mime, graphic art, and set design to TLC. Since 2000, when TLC’s production of The Odyssey toured to Vermont, Lisa has guided TLC students in the construction, painting, and costuming of marionettes, rod, shadow, and Bunraku puppets. She has also facilitated student projects in illuminated manuscript, perspective drawing, Japanese gardens, and the natural art of Andy Goldsworthy. In Paris, Lisa studied mime and masks with internationally known actor, director and teacher, Jacques Lecoq. Currently, Lisa performs with Marion Posner in their theatre company, Blessings in Disguise. |

The students at TLC are fortunate to also have the benefit of the many talented and dedicated parents and community members who occasionally contribute their talents to allow our students to experience a wonderful array of activities. In the past, our students have been involved in cooking classes, boat building, pottery, acting, astronomy, and many other activities. |
